These terms set out the basis on which Make IT STEM provides its website, mentoring, workshops, digital resources and courses. Please read them before booking a session or buying a resource. By using this website or purchasing from us, you agree to these terms.
This website is operated by Giuseppe Romano, trading as Make IT STEM, a sole trader established in the United Kingdom.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Giuseppe Romano trading as Make IT STEM. “You” means the person using our website or buying our services.
We provide the following, each of which may be subject to additional terms set out at the point of booking or purchase:
Paid digital resources are priced individually on the relevant page. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged and the price shown is the total amount payable.
Payment is taken by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card details. Once payment is confirmed, the download is delivered to the email address you provide at checkout. If your download does not arrive within a few minutes, please check your spam folder and then contact us and we will resend it.
Your right to cancel — digital content. Digital resources are supplied immediately on purchase. By completing checkout you expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge that you will lose your 14-day right to cancel once the download has been made available to you, as permitted by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Because of the immediate-supply arrangement in clause 3, we do not offer change-of-mind refunds on digital resources. We will provide a full refund where:
To request a refund, email contact@makeitstem.com with your order reference. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, normally within 14 days. Nothing here limits your statutory rights — see clause 11.
Mentoring is booked through our third-party mentoring platform or by direct arrangement. Where you book through a third-party platform, that platform’s own booking, payment and cancellation terms apply in addition to these terms.
Workshops are quoted individually. Scope, dates, fees, cancellation terms and any travel or expenses will be confirmed in writing before the booking is confirmed. Those written terms take precedence over this clause where they differ.
Joining a course waitlist is free and places you under no obligation. It is not a purchase and does not reserve a place. We will contact you when enrolment opens; a contract is formed only when you enrol and pay, at which point the course’s own terms will be provided to you.
Some resources are provided free of charge, in some cases in exchange for your email address. Free resources are supplied “as is”, for your personal use, and we may change or withdraw them at any time. Where you give us your email address, we will handle it in line with our Privacy Policy, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
All content on this website and in our resources — text, checklists, templates, slides, graphics and course material — is owned by Giuseppe Romano trading as Make IT STEM, or used with permission, and is protected by copyright.

Our mentoring, workshops and resources provide guidance, information and professional opinion based on experience in academia and industry. They are intended to help you make your own informed decisions.
We do not guarantee any particular outcome — including a job offer, interview, promotion, place on a programme, grant, visa or publication. Recruitment and admissions decisions are made by third parties on criteria outside our control. We do not provide legal, immigration, financial or medical advice, and nothing we supply should be relied on as such.
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — including that services be performed with reasonable care and skill, and that digital content be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing in these terms removes or limits those rights. Where any clause here conflicts with your statutory rights, your statutory rights prevail.

We may withdraw access to our website or services, or decline a booking, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or where a working relationship is not viable. Where we decline a booking you have already paid for, we will refund it in full.
We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The site is hosted by a third-party provider and may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site or our services at any time.
We use third-party providers for payments, forms, mailing lists, booking and analytics, and we link to external sites such as LinkedIn and Google Scholar. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. The providers we rely on are listed in our Privacy Policy.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These limits do not apply to losses arising from our deliberate breach, or where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you make a booking or purchase is the version that applies to it. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at contact@makeitstem.com — we aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and to resolve them within 30 days. If you bought through a third-party platform, you may also be able to use its dispute process.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction and keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.
